Pacific Truffle Growers
Stephanie S. Jarvis is the founder of Pacific Truffle Growers and the Director of Mycology Research & Development for M2 Ingredients and OM Mushroom Superfoods. She completed her Master of Science in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology from San Francisco State University (SFSU) under the guidance of Dr. Dennis Desjardin. At SFSU, she created a monograph on the Lycoperdaceae (puffball fungi) of California. Her undergraduate years were spent at Sonoma State University (SSU) studying Mycology, Plant Physiology, and Organic Chemistry and playing college tennis with Dr. Chris Kjeldsen (founding member of the Sonoma Mycological Association). Stephanie spent many hours conducting field research at SSU with Dr. Richard Whitkus on the Sudden Oat Death Task Force, working as a mycologist and plant pathologist for the first time. While in college, Stephanie became a certified arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). For the ISA, she created and taught an accredited CEU training program to teach mycology to better identify plant pathogens and aid in better tree risk assessment.
